For experienced audiobook narrators ready to take their work to the next level, this day-long acting intensive is limited to six participants. This workshop immerses narrators into their acting craft, focusing on the actor’s instrument (body, voice, and speech), exploring character development techniques for eliciting greater nuance and honesty, and presenting processes that expand the role of our inner ‘director’.

Curriculum

Part 1 - The Actor Master physical and vocal technique for extending range and choice options when creating characters, and learn rehearsal techniques for maintaining character consistency and specificity.

Part 2 - The Character Learn skills to deepen the process of character discovery, with techniques from Uta Hagen, Meisner, and Stanislavsky

Part 3 - The Director Learn to suspend self-judgment and turn your inner critic into an effective inner director
